Special thanks to... Total Eclipse Audio for making the amazing doorpods. Scott is the f-ing man. Exige Audio for the Revos. GREAT service and Mike knows what hes talking about! Revos Revos Revos... Honestly one of the best subs on the market right now. The sound quality on them is insane in the sealed box. Blows all other sq/sql subs ive had outta the water (alpine X, RE SExxx, Havocs, Boston G5s). The SPL is EXTREMELY impressive for being in a small sealed box. I havent metered it yet but im willing to say its 140-143dB on music easy with only 1700rms (so MMats says, hah). I listen to mostly rap, rock, and metal but i was going through the radio and jazz/smooth rock sounds stunning. You hear notes you never even know existed. Im used to a little more SPL for my rap songs but hey i can get used to it. MIDBASS FTW! Thats about all i have to say about that. Eclipse has a great HU here. First off 5v preouts FTW. The nav is very easy to use and the HU as a whole is extremely user friendly. I wish they would give a remote for free with it tho... subby fingers dont like pressing the little buttons. I have the EQ on the HU flat and the bass booster on 0 and it sounds pretty damn good. Hertz Audio speakers are extremely smooth and accurate. Ill give a full review on them when i get the new amps in and eq. _________________________ Still to come... PPI art series amps/crossover/EQ Amp rack...not sure what im doing yet. 24" black rims with a chrome lip Fogging the tail lights out Black vertical grill (top and bottom) 4 headrest monitors |

the revo compares to the tc3k right? just a newer, improved model. if so, i agree, i fu cking love my tc. did you do all the glasswork/most of the install? either way, that system will do some damage. one tc3k is too much for my car, i can't even imagine two revo's. i love cars with the hideaway hu's |

i still think you should get a 8cuft tuned to 32hz. but if you are happy with sealed then cool. its not cause its louder ported but it just sounds better ported. for me at least. |

After a solid 2-3 hours of listening now these subs are insane. In rap songs where they do a small bass sweep (roy jones ft. lil boozy, i smoke i drink...yeah i know its old but it was on one of my bass CDs) it is perfect, could not be any better. On metal songs the double bass still isnt the same as if i had 10" subs but its damn close. Theres not a single song yet i have heard where the bass sounds weak and ive tried several difficult bass songs. They just take um like champs. |

Haha Andrew i got this about a month ago. Im going to take a little page out of Brads book and say ported boxes are overrated. If you hear a real sealed system you dont even know whats going on. Its like bass notes you didnt know existed. I will eventually make a ported box to see how loud these guys can get but probably not until july. |

im curious to find out what you will be doing for an amp rack. doesnt look to be too much room back there. any ideas yet? also, how would you compare the mountaineer to the aviator? size, comfort, ride, all that jazz... the cisco kid |

"If you hear a real sealed system you dont even know whats going on. Its like bass notes you didnt know existed." I agree 100% with that from my experience switching from ported to sealed with my Q's. |

"If you hear a real sealed system you dont even know whats going on. Its like bass notes you didnt know existed." I would venture to guess its one of three things 1) you are hitting lower than your port tune with a sealed box 2) you are hitting notes clear that you cant with your ported box...sometimes that happens even above your port tune 3) you are able to hit the notes clear and on a more even spl scale....which contributes to hearing notes you didnt know were there....but its not necessarily that the ported box is worse |

I have heard both sealed and ported boxes I liked....sometimes it depends on the subwoofer I think....but even though sub A says it can go sealed or ported doesnt mean it will sound the best sealed....the vehicle has a factor as well |

Thanks guys. The whole sealed vs ported thing is kinda one sided right know. Im sure if i ported the subs there would be something else about them that i love. Ill build more boxes and do a little review...maybe even have one of my boys hear the difference side by side and let him write a review as well. Troy you MUST do pods in your whip. Maybe a little 8, 6.5, tweet combo or a few 2 way sets. |

JK I like the aviator alot more than the mountaineer. 1. V8 vs V6 2. Black vs Green 3. Nicer interior 4. Drives like a car rather than truck Gas in this thing sucks tho...it takes prem and im getting like 14mpg because i drive the sh!t outta it. Its pretty quick for an SUV with nothing done to it...got up to 107 last night on the highway maybe coulda hit 110 but i pussed out. |

Thank you BCS. Also got it metered on an AC mic today... 144.3dB on the dash with the windows up playing air forces by young jeezy. It is about 1.6dB off from a termlab according to my friend. Hes hitting 153.2 on the AC and 151.6 on the TL. Not to shabby for being sealed. |
