sorry about that let me reword that lol im looking for the best sub. there are to type of subs im looking at right now either 2x12 inch alpine type r or 1x12inch type x what ever i get will be powered by a hifonics brutus BXI2407D

the two type r's will get louder than the 1 type x. Enclosure and install will be important. What's your budget for subs?

also the 4 doors and top of trunk are dynomated will be doing the rest of the trunk before subs go in also will be doing the floor of the car and top of hood

sq- sound quality
spl- loud
sql- mixture of both

SPL stands for sound pressure level.
A SPL sound from a subh means that you sacrifice SQ for pure loudness
SQL is right in the middle.,

I'd have to say the R's are SQL subs and the X's are SQ. 2 12" Type R's on a AQ1200D. Doesn't get too much more cheaper than that and still hold quality. Don't be stuck on Alpine unless you get a discount or something, broaden your horizons.

do a single 12 in that car in a box around 2 cubes or less and youll be happy....my brother had a saturn and it hit best up in the low 50 hz range with a high fs sub (probably 40 hz) how big of an alternator are you going to run because that will help determine how much power you can run without alot of voltage drop....also include what other amp or amps your going to run besides the hifonics amp you listed

yea man build it yourself its not hard to build a box. 2 cube box carpet and wood 50-60 dollars to build and i believe the type x excells in sealed enclousers so go sealed for that sub
