not if you set your amp properly. IMO you should get a kicker Zx 500.1

I don't know sh!t about Almani products but if I was you I would get a good 500/700RMS @ 2ohm.

Always try to use mono d class amps for subs but 2 channel amps will work fine.(efficiency is the key)

Whats budget for amp?

I actually just recently bought a 12' Type r sub and i'm trying to pick the right amp for it. I was looking at the Alpine PDX-1.1000 amp i have the dual 4ohm version of the type r, I currently have a MRP-F450 amp for my speakers so i believe i need a cap for my car as well. I'm a bit new to car audio so any guidance would be much appreciated.

Justin make your own thread.

adfasn: NO CAP, it wont help you at all. your sub shouldnt play anything over ~80hz, if your sub is a dual4ohm sub then get a kicker zx750.1 it will put 800rms to that sub and the type-r will love that much power.

You will need a cap when you have a HO alternator, BIG 3, batteries etc. It's not as cool as you might think like HEY! let me put a cap and my problems are solved.. H3LL NO

caps are only useful in the CORRECT set up! yours is not needing a cap.

but like i said earlier, if your sub is a dual4ohm, get the kicker zx750.1 OR something that will put 700-900rms @2ohm
