I thought I would post some pics of Chad's amazing repair job, as well as everything that's going into my blazer soon. chad's consistent and amazing overpacking job, notice the newspaper....
he did an even better job with the replacement speaker for the above one, since the above speaker was blown stack of boxes I have accumulated, as well as my $30 worth of original nintendo, 2 guns, 3 controllers, all the marios, and many other games, also a Sega genisis console...lol
I'd like to thank Chad for the RD55.4, alpha comps, including the replacement speaker, a ton of other stuff I didn't really need but he sent anyway. I'd also like to thank Steve for the EQ, I will hopefully have everything done tomorrow |

Good job, Chad. No offense, but those are possibly the ugliest comps I have ever seen, haha. Glad they sound nice though. |

eh, I like the purple look even though they will prob be covered and hidden from sight. I may be adding some blue neons for accent lighting in the cargo area and maybe under the seats, so it would go well. |

yeah that's a special shout out to Chad lol. I have the power wire completely done besides shortening it for the distro, newly drilled hole in the body sealed. Mids are in and wired to the xovers. Thanks for the random weather stripping Chad. Ground wire is ready to be mounted and installed (including its own disto). Tomorrow: Find a spot for the tweets Wire the Tweets Run wire to the amps Run interconnectors to the front(don't know if I'm gonna install the EQ just yet, no mounting brackets) Put the blazer back together I'd just like to say F U C K General Motors and their 3000 screws per vehicle, as well as their seemingly useless metal and plastic brackets throughout the vehicle, especially behind the dash.....grrrrrrrrrr Thank goodness for my girl, she came over and cooled my nerves, also helped by installing the passenger side mid. saved me a lot of time. All these d@mn screws, as well as the labyrinth I have to navigate the wires through, are really holding me back... |

yes Nate, she ran the wiring in the passenger side door, helped put the rear cargo panel back in(which was a total b1tch I might add, hardest part/setback of the whole install) she also usually draws out my cut sheet on my mdf for when I build my boxes measures it out and everything. |

no chad, no. lol, btw, what do I need to make some small tear drop pods for the tweets? I'm not gonna cut a hole out as big as these tweets need to flush mount. I'd like to get this started and dried by tomorrow, install tomorrow night or monday sometime. I'm re-doing the "amp rack" and wiring me thinks. Also, the knukoncepts distro has no way of securing the wire into each terminal, would a silicone seal work fine to keep em in place? |

you can just surface mount the tweeers. it would look kinda ugly but would work for now. if you look at the bottom of the tweeter cup, you'll notice 2 holes for screws and 1 for the cable. |

alright here is what you need to do to make tweeter pod with fiberglass. first the supplies... resin mat...don't need a thick one since its only for tweeters. fiberglass resin and hardner. car body filler. paint brushes. small ones will work but not too small. mixing bowl that has the measuring marks. samll cup with the measuring marks. painters mask vinyl gloves speaker grill cloth thin sheet of mdf thin round wood stick (to hold the ring up) spray glue (3M 77 works good) glue gun and glue stick masking tape if you have all that then here we go..... MAKING THE BASE OF THE POD. 1. find the best place for your tweeters. 2. use masking tape to cover the area you are going to mount the pod. you want to go well outside the area when covering with tape. 3. cover the rest of the door panel with something so you don't get any resin on it. 4. use a black permanent marker and draw the shape of the base of your pod. (fine point marker is best but not too fine) 5. now cut up the resin mat so its a bit bigger than the base of the pod. 6. spray glue the mat and place it on the area you marked with the permanent marker. 7. mix up some resin. follow the direction carefully when mixing up the resin. in other words, pay attention to the resin to hardner mixture ratio. 8. now get the brushes and cut off the bristles about half so its not to lose but firm. 9. now with the brush gently pour some resin on the resin mat. rather than brushing it on, gently tap it on the resin mat so it soaks all the way through. 10. let it dry until it gets fairly hard. 11. once the resin cured, lay down another layer of mat and do the same with the resin. remember don't brush it on. just tap it on. *****important....you want to only mix a small batch of resin. just enough to do one layer. then when you are ready for the second layer, mix up another batch. the resin cures fairly fast so you don't have much time. 12. once the second layer cured completely, gently pull of the resin mat fro mthe door panel. it will pull off fairly easy. 13. remove all excess tape from the bass. you will noticed the black mark you made with the permanent marker has transfered on to the mat. 14. get a cutting too and cut along the lines you made. i use a jig saw. i have someone hold it with the blads up and i guide the bass along the line to cut it. if you have something else to cut with then you can use that. 15. once you have cut it along the lines, use a rough sand paper and sand it. then use a finer sand paper and finish sanding it. 16. not you got your self the base of the pod. NOW TO THE NEXT STEP. 1. make a ring out of the mdf sheet you have that will house the tweeters. 2. use the thin round sticks to hold the ring up to the position you want. use hot glue gun and glue stick to hold it on place. 3. get the speaker grill cloth and wrap the pod. make it as tight as you can. you can use spray glue and to hold it in place on the back of the base. 4. mix another batch of resin and gently brush it on. get the edges real good but don't go over the back. also don't apply resin on the round cut out. 5. once it cures, you can apply another layer of resin. 6. after that you cut out the hole and the excess grill cloth that went over the edges. 7. use the rough sand paper to smoothen it out. after that use the finer sand paper to make it more smooth. 8. then use car body filler to fill in the parts that are concaved to give it more round look. once that dries sand it down. 9. once you are happy with the shape, sand it with a fine sand paper to give it the best possible smootheness. 10. use texture paint, carpet, vinyl, or whatever else you want to use to match the door panel. you are done. |

teh sechs chad!!!!! lol I like it. btw, speakers are done and installed, everything is ready besides the EQ not being installed. I have to say I had no idea what mid range was until I heard these comps (or comps in general) these alphas get loud and are really crisp and accurate even with the gains at zero. I'm very happy and can't wait to see if the EQ improves the sound even more. Thanks Chad. |

I'm holding off on the EQ today, I'm gonna take apart the new project bike 1995 Suzuki RF900RS hopefully start draining it and all. we will see. plus I have some stuff to do today that's a lil more important than the EQ |
