yeah the new sub is a dd9512. the old one is an 05 model re xxx. i bought it from a guy on sounddomain new as a virgin (yes, new. he had it all that time and never got it installed. crazy huh?) about 2 months ago and have been using it for about a month. i'll probably be looking at selling the xxx so send me a pm with an offer if youre interested. just too big of a sub for my trunk area, hence the downgrade to a 12'' dd. reece- i hope i'm not gonna miss the low end too much. i have that xxx running about 1200 rms now at 32hz and it pounds man. still don't know if i wanna do 38hz or 40hz tuning for the DD sub. leaning toward 38hz but thinking 40 just because that's what they recommend. |

peakohm. i don't have experience with dd subs but they are known to lack low end. at least from what i've heard. moving from a notorious low end monster to that could be upsetting. i dont know from hands out experience though. |

daniel...not looking for trades now man, sub wise. maybe an amp if the right one comes along. sean. that's something i've been debating. right now i have an ax 1500de us amps (1500wrms) that that i planned on mating with it but i was thinking of getting an audioque 2200 because that would probably push it more to its potential. just seems like almost a downgrade in SQ from us amps to audioque but i've never heard an AQ amp before so i can't honestly say that. |

you are gonna be loud. i was bassracing in the low 140s with that sub in my trunk with the backseat up. lol. it was insane for a single sub. also you should hold on to the triple x. you might get tired of being loud and might want to sound clean again. lol. not that the 9512 doesn't sound clean but its no comparison to the triple x. |

lol yea i love the sound of the xxx. when i posted the pic of it i didn't really have the intention of selling it but i did have plans on getting a nice new amp and component set so selling it might be what i need. 140s on a 12? nice. how much power did you have to it and what was it tuned to? |

it was the older 9512. the box was 3 cuft tuned to 40hz. i know the box was a bit on the big side but it got insanely loud in there. |

yea that's a little bigger than i was thinking. the whole reason for the 12 was to take up less room than the 15 xxx. i think a 2.5 tuned to 40 should be just what the doctor ordered |

well i had a mmats d3500.1 on mine. the sub was seeing around 2800wrms. it was alot. but according to zac davis 1500wrms is good enough. he has tested numerous dd subs so i trust him. you should try it with the us amp first. if you don't like it then change it to the aq2200. |

I doubt you would hear a significant difference in SQ between the AQ and the US amps. The AQ is VERY underrated according to a test I saw on CA. The amp put out almost 1100 watts @ 4 ohms! If you want to make the 9500 scream get the AQ. It will still get loud and sound nice on 1500 though. |

ehhh too much work switching them :P i was thinking of 38 but i still haven't decided. reece yeah man that's f.ucking crazy how much it puts out to what it's rated (750rms @4) i think...i might just have to go with that :D you decide what youre doing with your sub situation yet man? |

I'm selling my 5200, one HC2400, batcap 300, some jl wire, and my SSX for sure, but i'm not sure whether i'll do 4 12 epics or 2 15 revos. i might get this box off this dude: http://www.tahoeforum.com/showthread.php?t=6389 (not for anywhere close to that price). if i get that box then i'll of course go with 4 12s, other than that i dont know. |
