Are you looking at the HF bxi2006 or 2008?
Aren't the 8-12 w7's all 3 ohm subs (13 @ dvc 1.5)? By 1.5 are you already assuming parallel wiring for a total impedance of 1.5 ohms?

For the past several years the Hifonics amps have been testing at a little less than rated power, so until there's evidence proving otherwise that's a safe assumption IMO.

So being rated at 2000w at 1 ohm, and 1300 at 2 ohms that would amount to 1650 (rated) at 1.5 ohms. Which means 1200-1400 actual. That's plenty of power to get a pair of w7's sounding very good, but the pair of JL's at an under rated 1000w each will get you slightly more output. It would be a measurable difference, but not a significance to the ear.

The bigger HF's -- 2608 and 2706 will get your roughly the same output as the two JL's.

Sound quality really isn't an issue.

if you got the money to spend on 2 JL 1000/1's then why are you looking at hifonics?

JL over Hifonics ANYDAY,EVERYDAY!

In general quality and prestige, sure, but at <$500 for a bxi2608d vs 1200-1500 for the JL's I find it hard to justify the money. Unless you have a ton of it, OR this is a show-type setup or you plan to have it for MANY years.

the specs say the Nominal Impedance for the w7 is dual 1.5 ohms thats what i was going off of and i plan on having it for a while not just for show. i have the money to get either but if i can save money by gettin just one hifoincs i was goona do that but i do rather get the 2 JL's and rather they be a little under powered then over powered so should i just get the two JL's?
