Hi, I've just fitted a 4 new Infinity 6022I speakers into my 98 ford escort, the problem is after about 10 mins of music cranked up the speakers start to distort, has anyone got any ideas what could cause this?? The head unit i'm using is a JVC LH811 which is supposed to be 50wpc.Could the speakers be draining too much power from the head unit?? Cheers Frank |

sounds like the HU isnt really powering the speakers enough. the HU only puts out about 15rms peak watts mean nothing. if you get a small amp 50x4@4ohm it should help out. also set a high pass filter HPF on your HU because the low freq getting to the speakers are distorting it. |

infinity is known for being a bright speaker without much midbass. if you wanted some speakers that had some thump then you bought the wrong ones. |

Hi, Cheers for the replys, It looks like i might have to invest in an amp and some kind of base box/tube in the boot. Someone else i spoke to seems to think that the distortion may be be caused by the headunit not coping with the low down base when cranked up, which caused the headunit to overheat and the music to distort.Does this sound right??????????? |
