Can a 12" or 10" hit the lows as good as a 15" or 18" if so what subs? DD, Re, fi, aq? I don't go to shows and none of my friends are really in to car audio, so I just don't have as much listening experience as most. I have always used 15's and 18's and haven't gave 10's and 12's a chance. Is it all box dependent? |

but it is possible if you throw a couple 12's in a huge box to hit the lows like a bigger woofer. or is the old saying "no replacemnet for displacement" true? |

It's all about moving/compressing air. I've had 4 10's in a box sound similar to a 15 but why do that? Keep it simple on your wiring, box and amp. And I luuub how an 18" sounds. |

lol. i say if you want lows out of a 12 get a high excursion 12 that will handle a good amount of power and have a low fs. what sub comes to mind that is recently new you ask.......NONE it seems like no one builds any low bass monster like the good old days. my vote goes with the audiopulse axis...lol. but you have to drop A LOT of money for one. |

my brother Scott s has a phoenix gold titanium elite 12 and that thing hits the lows...i believe it has an fs of 25 hz and he hit 138 db at 35 hz on the termlab sealed up on the dash in a 2.50 cube box port tuned to 35 hz...its for sale too...only draw back is it has like a 10 inch mounting depth...it can also be placed in a sealed box |

The vehicle and enclosure will make all the difference. I've seen t/l results with multiple 12s hitting 150s in the 20hz region. I love the sound of my 18s though.. |

i would say go with a soundsplinter rl-s or audiopulse revo or some guy has an older ascendant audio avalanche that will destroy lows. |
