Alright I would like to buy a decent 800watt 2ch 2ohm amp. I would like to run a pair of 12" Kicker CompVRs with it. they are rated 800watts peak per sub and like 400watts rms each I think, and 2ohms. I would like to keep it UNDER $160 if thats possible.
Suggestions as to what to and what not to get would be helpful. Thanks

are the cvr's dual2ohm? dont buy a 2channel amp. what you want is a class D mono amp. 160 isnt much, maybe try to save up a little more!

I really dont want to... The $70 amp i have is great at above half volume. Its just that when i turn it down so that i can hear other ppl in the vehicle, the sound is so sh1ty i cant stand it. I think its just the amp. But you dont know of something decent (doesent have to be the best) for a good ways under $200 that will power um nicely?

You can run as many subs as you want off a mono amp -- you just have to wire it for the appropriate impedance using series and/or parallel wiring.

I understand how ohms change when you hock speakers in series and parell. But i do not understand what happens to the watts that each recieves. I would like to give the subs no more than 400 watts rms a piece. would each sub actually recieve 750 watts rms off that amp no matter how i wire it?

http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=19509

50x2 @ 4ohm stereo
100x2 @ 2ohm stereo
150x2 @ 1ohm stereo
200x1 @ 4ohm bridged
300x1 @ 2ohm bridged

This amp is a little monster WAY underated power.
