Is the Orion 1200D (shiny case) made back when orion was their own company? Anyone have any opinions on this amp as far as actual output and efficiency? I found one used, what is a good price for this? |

No. DEI acquired ADS Technologies (ADS, Orion, Precision Power) in late 2001. But the D series are very nice amps and were from before the time that DEI totally revamped the Orion line. It puts out rated power and is fairly efficient. They sold for around $450 so if it is in good shape I would say that $200ish would be a fair price. |

Those orions with the shiney cases are the good ones. As well as their older stuff of course. The newer black/red ones are still good but not like the old stuff. |
