How much time should I allow the speakers to break in before I start to crank it up?

I remember hearing about thsi for home audio, would this work for car speakers? You hook the two speakers up to the same speaker terminal, but on one of them you reverse the polarity, so that one is +- and the other is -+. Then you press both of them together so that the two cones are facing eachother and it's kind of sealed, adn then play them for a minute or so it breaks in the speakers. would this work?
