I have issues with my 880XP remote. For a while it was arming/disarming only if i pressed the button 4-5 times repeatedly. Now it doesn't work at all so I gotta use the valet button to disarm.
I tried to re-learn it to the system but it doesn't work. Was hoping someone could tell me what i'm doing wrong?
Here is what I did to erase all from memory: 1. Open Door 2. Switch ignition to ON 3. Pressed valet button 10 times then one more time and held until LED flashed 10 times. 4. I pressed the valed button one more time and then I turned ignition to OFF
----- re-learn 1. Open Door 2. Pressed Valet Door 8 times then held final 9th time. LED Flashes 8 times - [this is supposed to auto learn the transmitter]. I pressed a button on the remote. 3. finally pressed valet one more time and turned ignition off.
I should mention that everytime I press the remote I get beeps with an Antenna icon that has no beams. In the manual it says this is due to the main unit not responding to the transmitter commands.
Any help appreciated. Thx.
p.s Python 880XP is also known as Viper 790(vx or xv) in case someone had this issue with their viper maybe they can help.
