Hey everybody, my homeboy just got a 2007 tahoe, and he wants me to help him build a system. he wants very loud, clean bass, but does not want to spend more than 2500 on everything. What do you think about (4) sd2.5 12s on (2) audioque 1200d amps? he has more than enough space, and i also need to know what size alt he will need. We are both going into the nfl draft this year, and he wants something withing the next couple weeks. Thanks everybody!! |

im not jocking everyone... i just dont buy this guys story for one and two i think if it is true its lame that he would use that as a ploy for people to help him on the forums? he chose a nice system i figured i would let dave answer his question though because he is all knowing  |

you 2 are ruining most of these threads with your comments towards each other.
To OP. sounds like a good system, but i would rather get the AQ 2200D and those subs and then a nice set of comps with comp amp. hope you are willing to loose a lot of that cargo area in the taHOE. |

the two 1200ds would draw more current together and only produce a couple hundred extra watts so I would say definately get the 2200d. you wont notice any audible difference.

Good luck in the draft bud.
but with the amps you also have to be aware of wiring options. Im not sure on the strength of the aq 2200 at .5 ohm. (which is what you would have to wire it to with the 4 sd2.5s) im not saying it can't handle it but after impedance/box rise it would probably be over 1 ohm anyway but just something to be aware of.
i like the idea of the 4 sd2.5s. i currently own 2 of them.
as for the alt.(depending on the efficiency of your amp(s)) id say the absolute least amperage alt would be a 200A. but go bigger just to be safe. |

andre, theres a real knowledgeable person on this forum that attends FSU. his name is Trevor Eaton. you guys should meet up an talk. I'm sure he'd also help you out with the install if you needed it. He also has had 2 15's in his Escalade so he knows what he's doing. hopefully he can post in this thread. |
