On craigslist I found someone selling a brand new and in box JL 500/1. I'm thinking, is this 2 good 2 be true? I'm running two Fi X12's running at 4 ohm and really soon to be two JL 12" W3v3s ,i got for 150 :-), with an e.d. 9. Would the 500/1 be better power for the two 12"s (w3s) running at 2 ohm rather than the e.d. nine running at 4 ohm?

Thanks,
Ben

Is there any sound quality benefits for running it at 4ohm rather than 2.

ed nine running at 4ohm- 225w per sub
500/1 at 2 ohm- 250w per sub?

imo if you already have the nine.1, just keep that. you wont notice any difference by switching amps. unless of course you're set on buying the jl amp anyways.

No I'm not unless it would have made a difference. Thanks for the advise.

If you buy a JL amp from anywhere other than and authorized dealer, call JL and verify the serial number, there are a lot of fakes out there.

If it doesn't have a serial number on it, DO NOT buy it.
