Man I'm not complaining about the SQ ths good but they aren't even loud on some songs I can barely even here bass. My friends 2 type r 12" on 2 audiobahn amps with stock charging is way louder than my sht! If I wuda known they would sound like this I wuda saved a hell of a lot of money getting tht. Idk what could be wrong |

then you need to tune with sub level up and a 50hz test tone by yourself. im prety sure that will make them louder. put it on your ipod and get a multimeter. its simps. |

Snow youre an idot. Me and Scott know what we're doing, we installed and set everything. I'll take a look at the meet..... but if scott didn't find anything wrong with it I doubt I will. Hell heres what Im a do...... I'll bring a spare HU I have and an RCA cable. Hook power up to it and plug rcas into your amp. Just to see if that HU or ipod has something to do with it, which I highly suspect it may. |

maybe they are wired to 4 ohms, but that would not cause it to smell. It would explain the lack of thump tho. |

dwight it is possible to send a clipped signal from your ipod. so if you have maxed out the ipod and turned up some bass settings on the hu. you quite possible could be clipping a already clipped signal. thats no good man. just be cautious with it until the meet. |

"Yea I turn the bass level up from time to time bcuz these shits aint loud @ all on most songs like I said. Man I'm pissed I spent all this time and money to get a system that isn't loud!" Well...depending on what level the BB was set at when he tuned your gain that would be a good reason you're clipping the SH1T out of those subs. Also, different recordings will need you to re-tune the gains if you're tuning with a DMM. |

^^^exactly....Dwight dont make a bad situation worse...moving the bass boost up is VERY likely clipping the signal...since scott set the gain with the bass at 0...by ear (before distortion) |

A friend of mine had a DD2512" in a 2.75cf 44 sq. in. vent 16"long tuned to 40Hz. And we put it on my Sundown SAZ-1500D at 2ohm and it bang hard and sound nice. |

"^^^exactly....Dwight dont make a bad situation worse...moving the bass boost up is VERY likely clipping the signal...since scott set the gain with the bass at 0...by ear (before distortion)" That is something that Dwight should know by know after being on Ecoustics for so long. I blame all the OT and F/S threads that push the threads where people actually learn to the bottom. I'll admit my debates/arguments(Some people call them that) don't help at times but they're usually for good reason. Dwight, you really should know better than to turn up the BB after the gain has been tuned with BB set to 0. |

dwight just take it easy until ms and scott looks at it again. i have a feeling you touched something and you are not telling us. also if you smell something its a good sign you should just turn it down for now until someone reviews your setup again. |

Some people actually tune by ear until they hear distortion but that's just some people. There's nothing wrong with tuning by ear but you have to have the right ears and know what distortion is and sounds like. |
