I'm going to be buying some new component speakers (Either Alpine Type X Reference or some variety of CDT) and a Pioneer Premier 8" Shallow sub. What I'm not sure of is which amp should I buy. Should I get: A) Eclipse XA4000 4ch (or whatever the newest one is) B) Alpine MRP-F550 (or F600) C) Alpine PDX 4.100 Also, are there any others in this price range I should look at that have comparable stats? |

You want one amp to run the comps AND the sub? Or two amps? |

That MRP-F550 bridged to 2ch will put out some serious power, geat for a set of CDT HDs...... (thats my setup) Then get a mono amp for the sub. |

One amp to run the comps and the sub. The rear speakers will be powered off the HU. I've looked into 5 channel amps and they're all to weak in that range. The sub I'm talking about is only 120 watts RMS at 4 ohms with a 500 watts MAX power, so keep that in mind. |

Oh, in that case the F550 would work great for you. The PDX amp would be great also but I can't justify the price on those amps. |
