i just installed a new jvc head unit into my 2002 oldsmobile intrigue and it's not functioning properly. it gets power but the thing just doesn't turn on. i was told that i need to buy a new accessory wire for my car because the factory one in it just isn't working. does anyone know how to do this or how long it might take? any help is greatly appreciated. |

Get yourself a test light or digital multi meter and find out what the problem is before you run a new wire. You don't want to be driving around with electrical shorts. |

You could always tap into the fuse box on the side of the door and run one from there. You just need to look in the manual and look for the fuse for the radio... |

^To be a bit more clear, you can tap into the fuse panel but the fuse needs to be the right size for your head unit which can be found in the manual. Like I said earlier though you really need to find out where that electrical short is. |
