Alright, so this morning I went outside to find my system not working. Thought it was a loose wire, which there was. reconnected the wire and still not working. The amp isn't even turning on, but it is still recieving power. no fuses are blown and REM is connected. Called powerbass customer service and talked to a tech (Chris) and he told me there was either something wrong with the Ground wire (which there isn't) or the amp is blown.

I find it hard to believe that the amp is blown since it was working perfect last night. Anyone else think my amp could possibly be blown?

During our convo, I asked Chris about the fuses which were supposidly supposed to be inside the amplifer. he told me that since the amp was having heat, and impendance trouble with the fuses, they were all taken out of the amp, resulting in the only protecting being he fuse at the battery.

Did you check the amps battery + and REM terminals with a DMM and they have +12 volts?

If so, sounds like your amp is blown like the tech said.

If they're on the side, off the board those would be FETs, one of the most common compoents to blow when an amp blows.

Keep in mind, usually there is more damage than what you can actually see visually.

Haha, good eye Joey. Guess it's only in the 1500.1 and 2000.1.

"damn joe! and you got a great deal on it"

probably because of the fuses!

ive always wondered why the 1000.1D was $10 more on Sonic than the 1500.1D. I think it's prob because of the fuses now!

And M.S., is it worth getting these "FET's" fixed? Or should I look into a new amp?

Like I said there is often more damage than can be seen.......... IDK how much you paid for the amp, but I wouldn't pay to get it fixed, I'd just buy a good quality amp.

called the people of PB and they said since it was purchased online, they wont do anything for me.

I called the place where I got the amp and they said they can't do anything for me either.

Any of you guys have any used amps that can power my SE's?

For that price you can get a brand new Audioque 1200d...... that amp is underrated a little, and from what I've heard the powerbass are overrated a bit so you'd probably get the same power......

I had this amp tested and was getting alittle over 1400 watts out of it.

Do you have a web page where I can look into that amp? and possibly buy when I get some extra spending cash?

Alright, I found that amp on their web page for $249 + what ever shipping would be.

is this the best price for this amp right now or is there someone selling them cheaper?
