Didn't read any other posts so sorry if its already been said.

Some rappers I can think of who have some intellectual songs:
Lupe Fiasco
Eminem
Nas
Immortal Technique
Showtime
Tom Gist
Starlito
Young Tre
Mos Def
Talib Kweli
Jay Z
Common

Not all of their songs are but a few of them are.

Deltron 3030 featuring Deltron Zero, better known as, the black dude in the Gorillaz.

"The underground hip-hop supergroup Deltron 3030 features Deltron Zero (Del Tha Funkee Homosapien), the Cantankerous Captain Aptos (producer/remixer Dan "The Automator" Nakamura) and Skiznod The Boy Wonder (turntablist Kid Koala). Much like Nakamura's previous conceptual projects, Dr. Octagon and Handsome Boy Modeling School, Deltron 3030's self-titled album and single sends the hip-hop triumvirate into the year 3030, where -- as the sole survivors of earth -- they travel through the galaxy. Both the album and single were released in 2000 on 75 Ark Records. An album of instrumentals tracks from Tron 3030 followed a year later."

Hey, I don't have all of this on the tips of my fingers, it takes some thinking and looking through my collection. lol

I didn't know that Deltron 3030 was a group. Cool. I always thought it was just a Del album. Thanks.

OK, I just read the first post. Haha

If you want to show her that there is more to hip hop, try these songs.

Imagination - Unknown Prophets
Let It Go - Eightrack Mind
Keep Ya Head Up - 2pac
Back Home - Blue Scholars
Stop The Violence - Boogie Down Productions
Faheem - Brother Ali
Mind Power - Ohmega Watts
Appreciation - Cunninlynguists
Another Chance At Life - Wise Intelligent
Check It Out - Heavy D & The Boyz (one of my favourites)
Careful Line - Graveyard Shift
It's Okay - Eminem
Books - Silent Law
Keep It Beautiful - Shock G

I'll throw those in a rar file and upload to Rapidshare if you want. You can burn them to a CD and give it to her.

What really makes me laugh about this thread is that you debated with your teacher that there are some rap songs that are actually intellectual, then you come on here because you cannot think of any lmao

SPM has a few good 'uns, though.

Listening now. "He pulled back the shirt cover but what he saw made him start to cringe and stutter, cause he was staring into the eyes of his own mother."

Damn....I feel dirty after listening to this song lol

It wasn't him who raped his own mother. It was his buddy. Then his buddy proceeded to jump off the roof and kill himself. Then him and his other buddies killed his mother and never talked about it.

He claims its true. Is it? Who knows. It is Immortal Technique.

2pac is about the most intellectual man ever in rap in my eyes, even if teh songs are hardcore and stuff, most of it is still intellectual, and then you got your dear mama type songs of his, he gets my vote
