does anyone know if this amp can go passed 500w at 1 ohm? the specs on it say it gets 500w at 1 ohm but i've heard that it can be pushed up to 1000w.

Those amps do 700w-1000w it depends on the individual amp

ok so it sounds like you just get some random number. is there anyway i can make sure to get between 800w and 900w at 1 ohm?

The power kable, and battery you run your amp on, is what gives you the 1ohm power. thin kable-smal power, fat kable-more power.

vc config and subwoofer wiring is how you get a 1 ohm load - not the power and ground wire size
