Started it tonight. It is 2.45cu ft tuned to 32hz. The sub will be inverted behind the drivers seat and obviously the port will be behind the passenger. I'm thinking about a flared port but I'm not sure yet... Here are pics
I'm going to work on it tomorrow and hopefully get it put together |

Ive got a zx750.1. I blew my last one and didnt feel like sending it off to get fixed so I got a new one. one, its upside down to save airspace, two, it just looks better IMO P rick. That would be funny. Ive always thought, the bigger the sub the funnier the backside of it looks. The cone just dwarfs the magnet |

What are the benefits of inverted and won't the wires coming from the VC's make it look "un clean"? |

With the sub inverted it wont be taking up airspace inside the box therefor I can build it a little smaller, which is what I needed in the truck. Also, I bought wires to hook up to the VC so it doesnt look tacky. They are not plain looking ones. As long as I try and make it look good, it will. |

seeing that sub makes me wonder if there are some possible advantages not thought about with a sub being inverted...I might have to test and see |

well one thing im thinking is you might be able to help cool the subwoofers voice coil better that way and one way is with the air conditioning in the vehicle and that would help control impedance rise from heat....this would be good in a spl only type situation as well possibly allowing you to apply more power to a subwoofer |

Inverting is cooool. I love seeing the motor structure and how it works. With some of the newest subs out it's almost a shame to hide them in the box. Great job man. |

Thanks paul. yeah, I liked your mag box where you could see the magnet on the mag... Yanks needs to do that too. I especially like this b/c I love black and with the arsenal being all black, it kinda makes me touch myself in naughty places. |

is there anything wrong with painting your basket black? I've been thinking about doing that, I love the look. sean, wouldn't the A/C not work because of the amount of air the speaker is moving inside the cab would displace the cold air blowing to it? |

sean said he thinks he may be able to use the air conditioning to help cool the sub when being used in an SPL application. but the amount of air that the speaker would displace when being played would defeat the purpose of air conditioning cooling the speaker, unless the air conditioning was being blown directly on the speaker. right? |

Inverted, it's still interacting with possibly cooler air, though, right? |

yeah it was just a quick thought i had figuring the air outside the box would be cooler than inside the box but ideally using it for spl you would have a coil cool anyway before burping so there's no gain to be had there really....but daily use it would probably help a little if your overpowering the sub and you would smell the coil quicker if you were overheating it...so overall my idea wasnt as good as I thought |

good point theives. I would assume that you're right but like sean said, the outside air has to be different than that inside the box so it may help a little. I just know it saves space and looks sweet to me. haha |
