I have TrueRTA software on my laptop

http://www.trueaudio.com/rta_down.htm

There is a free verion, but your can search online for the code to unlock the full version.

They recommend a Behringer ECM8000 mic which is what I have.

http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&_trksid=m37&satitle=Behringer+ ECM8000&category0=

Then you need a preamp for the mic, and a long XLR cable to connect it. I have a Behringer UB802 mixer as a preamp, but it is more complicated than it needs to be. I've seen other people just use a cheaper/simpler preamp, I'm probably going to get one. Just look on ebay for one with 48v power.

alright thanks m.s. i knew i could count on you.

what you think about this though. its only a 10 band but i think it could be effective and easy to carry around.

Damn that's expensive and not nearly as accurate as you could do with the mic and pc software

Haha cool but I'd recommend just getting a simple preamp instead of the mixer....... should be easier to work with

Hmm I will get back to ya on that..... I haven't really looked into them even for myself yet. I just have seen before a guy with a setup similar to mine and he had one.
