Well, it finally happened. Four whole years with a Digital Audio class D mono amplifier in a van that never locked... pretty good, I'd say. They also got me for my MTX 4 channel amp that I had running to my door speakers.

ANYWAY, the moral of the story is:
I would like to purchase another 1ohm stable amp that is a TRUE 1000 watts. (class D is what I had in mind - but HEY, convince me otherwise if I should be convinced)

I need the best bang for my buck, and I haven't researched amplifiers for some time now. Please list the options I have under $300.00! Thanks, as always, ecoustics!!!

Kevin may be able to help you. i don't know what his prices are but he sells Sundown amps.

I'd also look for a eDNine.1 You can get them relatively cheap. Check out ca forum.

Ask kevin ( lowhz01@yahoo.com ) about a RD 1000.1 or Sundown SAE-1000d. Those are the only 2 good amps I can come up with that may be in your price range.

Good call, I forgot those amps were for sale now. That AQ amp is probably the best value around, good quality 1200w amp for $279

Yeah... those old MTX amps were pretty nice, eh? Same thing with the old Rockford Fosgate subs... and Cerwin Vega... it's a shame when a company gets bought out (or whatever) and the new owners exploit the reputation to make quick cash.

On that note: Audioque seems promising. That sure is one hell of a sales pitch on their website! lol You can tell whoever wrote it must have been tweekin' at least a LITTLE bit - but hey... very well thought out and very well written! lol
But, I gotta say... a digital voltage meter on the amp would be kinda nice. Would I be able to hook one up to the Audioque or is there another amp with a digital voltage meter than can rival the Audioque?

As for the door speakers: what's a good replacement for my old 4 channel MTX?

Thanks for all your responses - and I hope you guys post much more info for me. Thanks.

Yeah old MTX amps were good

As far as I know, for that amount of power that AQ is the best value out there right now.

For a speaker amp,

US Amps merlin
Sundown Audio
Kicker
Alpine

and there are others

will the Audioque amp go into protection mode if i push it past 1ohm (let's say.... if i hook up 6 - 4ohm voice coils all together... will it keep throwing hooks or shut down?)

also, is there a bass boost knob or what exactly is this dash mounted remote referring to?

thanks, everyone.

i always appreciate your help.

Actually, does anybody here actually own one yet?

thanks, guys and gals.

MTX USED to make good amps

Not anymore though. They haven't for a long time.

The dash mounted thing is the bass knob.
