im looking into purchasing my first new system for my car and im stuck between what subs i should get as well as an amp, im looking at two 12 MTX Thunder 4500s or two 12 Alpine SWE-1242? and as far as amps ive been told alot of different things so im kinda confused if anyone has good advice for which of those subs are a better choice and whether or not a shouuld buy a kicker mono amp or an alpine mono amp id really appreciate it

if i was you i have heard both of them and i would go with the alpines they can handle more power then the mtx, the mtx will blow really easy if you have anything setup wrong.

def dnt get MTX subs if you get alpine, get the type R's and get a kicker amp they give u the bang for your bucks and there under-rated..they usually do more rms.., usually there's good prices on ebay for them...

the difference between 4ohm and 2ohms is what you wire them too, and what amp you are using...heres the wiring options...

(2)Dual 2 ohms wired in parallel/series=2ohm load
Upload

(2)Dual 4 ohms wired in parallel/parallel= 1ohm load
Upload

and then just find amp that is 2ohm or 1ohm stable your choice....

I found this on ebay (2) Dual 4 ohms for $234.45 shipped...then you would need an 1ohm stable amp

Or i found these (2) Dual 2 ohms $263.98 shipped...then you would need an 2ohm stable amp
