Thinking about trading my RE XXX 15" for an SS XXX 15" .. not sure if I want to.. idk what I'd power the SS XXX 15" with but it sure would go nice in that CRX build I plan next year What do you guys think |

Gotcha...I was wondering. I am not sure exactly what you are looking for, but if it were me I would not do it. Without knowing anything about SoundStream, I am going to have to assume the SQ will be pretty awful. Not to mention the fact that the RE is one of the best subs out there. Just my opinion. How much will the SS cost? Would you run it at 8000RMS? That's a hell of an amp and charging system. |

I am sorry, I don't feel anything that is built by power acoustic (parent company to soundstream) can keep up with the XXX. I have not played with the SoundStream, but I have the feeling it is a bad move. |

ive also heard a soundstream XXX 18 ported for spl on like 6kw. they are extremely loud. it was in a smaller suv that looked similar to a ford escape, but was a foreign brand. as far as the trade, the subs are really not in the same category saying ones an all out SPL sub and ones sq/sql. but do whatever you thinks best for you. |

i would hold out, something could come up in a year and you may not have the money for the car and stuff like that so atleast stick with a sub that should sell easy or that you can already use. plus you may change your mind for a spl sub in a years time anyway. |

well unless my income tax return blows i should have the cash.. i guess ill just go with a single 12" when we get the REX .. ima pick up another DD M1 so i can strap the two and be in pro 0-400 and still be running 3000-4000rms for a burp.. unless i wire under 1 ohm then itll be more power ftw |

have heard that SS XXX quite a few times - sounds quite good for a spl sub ...a guy has 1 in a older model sentra & the box for it has to be HUGE though & that sub requires a sh1t load of power to get it to really perform ...he has hit 145 on iasca meter with it tuned around 35hz & box about 7cuft with 2 big slot ports on each side of the box firing into the cabin ...did some good excursion too RE XXX IMO is a much cleaner soundind quality sub which still gets loud ....i like more quality than spl so if were me id keep the RE ..... |

nope. not a 4hp. (100% sure of that. trust me.. i have had both ) its larger. (500 oz ferrite to the 4hp's 400 oz) i have had the ss xxx.. it was loud. it uses a 4" coil. cone folded though. the sub is.. fairly capable, BUT ss's customer service is SEVERLY lacking. hth. |

If you are looking for a Comp sub then MT is the best bet but you need to know alot about custom boxes or else it will not sound good it is used for custom comp systems very very loud if done right....if your looking for a killer loud sub for everyday use and mega bass then the REXXX is the way to go ......ATOMIC makes some Killer Subs as well |

neither the xxx or sx is better than one another yet they are better at doing one thing over the other and vice versa ray.. single was 4.0^3ft @ 35hz and the dual was 5.4^3ft @ 40hz .. measurements are after displacement of port/sub(s) |

one of those SXs.. bought it from him .. subs are way under-rated.. on the proper charger they can handle a lot of power daily.. polo ran that one on 2500rms.. of course those are the old models.. you can tell the new ones from the old ones by a small SX logo on the bottom of the dustcap.. mine didn't have that ray.. you never asked me for help? |
