question, this "flagship" cd unit for boss audio claims peak 70x 4channel but it also has 5 volt preamps,, but I cant find the rms rating any where,, does anybody know what it is? or whether boss audio make ok cd players? thanks, Jordo |

Curious too, sounds too good to be true with the price but can't seem to find any reviews on boss audio.... making me leary, anyone have input? |

avoid anything by BOSS. I implore you. It's trash. 70 watts my a$$ RMS is about 9 to 11 watts x 4. example, the Alpine head units with Vdrive use a 10AWG line directly from the battery to power the internal amplifiers, which are the best internal amps I've ever seen from a head unit, and with all of that, they put out 27WRMS x 4. 60W x 4 max. Also be aware that 4V pre-outs are good, but not all amplifiers are capable of accepting 4V input so that's something to check as well. Consider going with a better head unit. Eclipse Alpine Clarion Pioneer Premiere any of these would serve you well, for years to come. |
