I have a '92 accord and im replacing the speakers that are in it. I have two 12" audibahn subs that run 500w RMS power handling per sub. What would be good speakers to get that i could install or get someone to install?

there's hundreds of options. what type of sound are you going for? what's your budget? are you amping them or are they running of the HU? what type of music do you listen to? all of these are factors. once you explain those, you can start heading in the right direction with your search.

Im thinking about getting a kicker zx750.1 amp. But ill have to see how much the speakers are going to be. I listen to alot of hard/classic rock..metallica ac/dc stuff like that also some rap. I have around $300 dollars to spend.

i would get the amp AFTER you get the speakers......speakers are what you're gonna hear. as long as the amp is decent....which that kicker is (except wrong number of channels).....it'll do the power the speakers need so that they can play.

you need a 2 channel amp, not a mono amp, for components. a mono amp is for a sub.

CDT's EF set would a good fit for your listening tastes. if you're interested in those, feel free to PM me.

Focal, Diamond, and Rainbow also make good sets. there's plenty of others too.

go to a local shop and listen to a few sets. decide what sounds good to you. come back here and mention what you liked about each set. like was it mellow or did you like it bright, or did you like the midbass on it, etc, etc. from there you can par things down a bit.

the amp gives them more watts, correct. however amps are built as 1 channel (mono-for subs), 2 channel, 4 channel, and seldom as a 5 channel. for components, you need 2 channels.

Oh ok so i need to be looking for the 2 channel..which means i will only need the 2 channel to be able to power the subs? But what about powering the 2 subs plus 4 speakers..wouldnt a 2 channel amp only power the subs or would it be able to power the subs and the speakers?

A mono (1-channel) amp will power as many subs as you like, provided that the subs are wired correctly.

As far as speakers go, put it this way. For every speaker in your car, you need 1 channel. So if you have a single set, you will have a speaker on the left side of the car and the right side. The left side needs one channel, and the right side needs one channel. Now if you have front left, front right, and back left, back right, then you will need 4 channels. Is this making any sense?

check out this site, there's a lot of good info here: www.bcae1.com

it explains a lot of different topics in car audio
