ive got between 400-500 to spend on 2 sets of 6.5 componets for my 96 impala.. which would sound best and get loud? they will be running off a JL 300/4 amp.

if i go focal k2 i can only afford one set, diamond audio hex i can get both sets for around 500 and the jl xr650-csi's i can get both sets for around 450.

no, you won't. when you're going with speakers that are high end (400-500 a set), you'll be fine with a single set. they'll be plenty loud for you. i have CDT's with 2 SI Mag's and they're awesome. they aren't harsh at all, the midrange is really smooth, and they extend plenty low for my tastes.

those focal's can be very bright. with that budget, first of all, skip the Hex's and XR's. the ZR's are next up in JL's line. they're nice, but there's nicer for the coin. there's a lot of options but i would look around. what type of sound are you aiming for?

Rear speakers are more for if you have people in the back seat a lot and you care enough about what they hear to spend money on them lol. Won't get any advantages besides more mid-bass from rear speakers.
