How would I go about wiring neon light tubes into my head unit(50wx4 with 3 RCA outputs) so the neons would turn on and off consistent with the music beats?

I was thinking hooking an equalizer up to one of the RCA outputs and wiring the neons to the outputs of the equalizer so that I can adjust the frequency of the lights for bass or highs.

Would I wire the power + wire of the neon to a constant power source and connect the negative or ground wire to the equalizer?

The neons require a 12v power source to stay turned on.

wouldn't work.
what you need to do is just buy a set of neons or cathode tubes that come with a module that pulses the lights to sound.
they sell these for computers already. just buy a set like that.
