I just picked up the carbon fiber (CF) model of the z5000 series cadence monoblock amps.
It produces 750RMS@2ohm, but only 25@4ohm, Why is this?
This really limits my choices in dual sub setups, unless someone can tell me a method of making say, two dual voice coil 4ohm subs into 2ohm.
Etc...
Anyone know much about this amp? Is it good? I've only let it push a p3d412, it rocked it - but I'm looking for a dual 12 setup, or some other setup that produces more SPL. (In the market for buying right now if anyone has anything).

Yeah,I know - but every source I see says this amp only puts out 25-75RMS @ 4 ohm, and is only effective in 2ohm mode, at which it puts out 750 ( I can confirm the 750 rms@2ohm, as it beat the living hell out of my p3d412. |

That is correct...... most cadence amps are that way, they only produce any meaningful amount of power at their lowest ohm load.
So, you need 2 DVC 2 ohm subs, or 2 SVC 4 ohm subs to use with that amp. |

Okay =) That's fine, was just curious. It's a really nice amp from what I can tell (For my budget anyway, I know you guys have a lot more spare money and can build more impressive systems, but for me, this is nice - and I'm happy with it)
I'll find some speaker configuration that works out well for me =) I was told in the subwoofer forum that for this amp, the highest SPL budget sub I'm going to find is an L7, so perhaps I'll go with that! |

Don't get an L7 if you plan on using this as a daily system at all. Their SQ is crap. |
