I have recently bought a JL 12w7 in a letterbox ported box. To get the best out of my w7 i would be willing to fork out the expences of a JL1000/1 but just wondering if anybody had any other suggestions on any other amps that would run the sub to a similar standard. Thanks |

1000/1 is to the 12w7 as thunder is to lightning. |

Well, if you plan on getting 1 JL W7, you can run the sub at 1.5 ohm on a Sundown Audio SAZ-1500D and be very happy. Email me if interested. Kevin lowhz01@yahoo.com |

how do you run the w7 at 1.5 ohms, for like the 10th time in 2 weeks, arn't they ALL SVC 3 ohm subwoofers , so he'd have to have two of em to get it down to 1.5 |

almost all. The 13.5 W7 is a dvc 1.5. So again, it would be more practicle to tun a 13 at 3 ohms. But all the other W7's are svc 3 ohms. So you need an amp that will push 750wrms plus,at 3 ohms. Bridging a 2 channel may not work, cause most are only 4 ohm stable when bridged. If you can find a mono amp that does 850-1000wrms at 2 ohms, then it will put out about700-850 at 3 ohms, in thereoy and if its a quality amp. Simply solution 1000/1 |

the 1000/1 or 500/1 will be the best choice, if you are considering another amplifier for your 12w7 you gone damage that suspension. |

It would still have the same sound quality on a 500/1 unless you think that a louder sub sounds better. |
