Hi, I've never worked with digital amps before, as well as the fact that I have a new headunit. The owner's manual states that the voltage clips at 4v, so that means I set the amp anywhere below 4v? The reason it confused me was that the lower the voltage, the louder the bass, so I was a little confused. Thanks. |

Dont go by the output of the HU. Use this info to set your gain: http://www.subwoofertools.com/forum/setgain.asp http://mobile.jlaudio.com/support_pages.php?page_id=143 |

Alright, don't really have a digital multimeter or anything fancy...thanks for the links though. Is there any "dangerous" voltage? Would it be better to set the volts lower or higher (settings are for 0.1-0.5, 1.5, 2.5, 4, and 8 volts)? |

Set the voltage input on your amp the same as your voltage output on your head unit. What kind of HU do you have? You can get a digital multimeter at walmart for cheap, and they are very usefull. |

I have an Alpine CDA-9885, and for an amp I have an Alpine MRD-M1005. |
