Hey everyone I got a Coleman Powermate 400w continuous power inverter a while back. I have used it occasionally but today the red fault light came on - its not going away. I checked the fuse it was ok and then I let it cool before testing it again but the red light still stays on. Is the inverter damaged?

Does it have a low voltage alarm? What are you using for the power supply? I have a 2000w and a 1000w inverter and my 2000w watt inverter did exactly what yours did. Mine however has an audible alarm that shuts the unit down when it detects a low voltage reading from the battery. Could also be a ground fault. Try another power source and check the grounding. If it still trips the light then I'd say it's internal.
