Thread: JL or Kicker?? |

Ok I have 2 12" Alpine Type R's and I need an amp.It's between a JL 500/1 or a Kicker a Kicker kx850.2.Now the JL puts out 500rms right? And the kicker says it puts out 425x2 at 2ohms is that max power or rms?Which amp would power them better? Oh yea i can get a brand new kicker for about $340.00 off ebay and the JL is about 400.00 |

Go with the JL.
that kicker is most likely RMS. |

which means that you would get 425 watts to each sub with the Kicker amp. If the Type R's are 2ohm subs. |

just go with the 500/1. more features, less wiring hassle. plus, its JL!!!!!!! |

RMS power is what you're looking for, learn your stuff before posting here please....
ill say a JBL bp600.1 is a better match out of all those amps, the jl is a great amp, but its better off used on a pair of higher level subs or a higer level sub than type-r's...personally, i think the JL can shred those type-r's
a BP600.1 is a perfect match - 600w rms at 1 or 2 ohms which is what you're looking for
plus the BP600.1 is less than $200 on ebay |
