Ok I'm trying to set my girlfriend up with a nice little sub system. She has decent comps in her car but they have no low end. She's not huge on bass, but I've got her convinced that the sound just is not "full" without some bass in there. I figure a decent 10" woofer in a sealed box would do the trick. No need for more than 200 Watts RMS I would think. The 12" 250 watt RMS bazooka I had in my car is way more than she needs (which is not saying much...). Any system suggestions? Particularly if anyone is selling or knows someone selling equipment that fits. Budget is probably the most important aspect. I'm lookin on here and craigslist. I prefer getting decent stuff through someone on here or online so she can get a warranty. My aim is <$300. BTW she has a teeny little '99 Saturn SL2. I don't feel like changing the in car speakers or adding more in the car - I think just adding a dedicated sub or two would be the easiest thing to do. |

There's lots of cheapo bazooka and pyle tube woofers. The bazooka I had sounded nasty and muddy...but for way cheap in a simple setup like a tube is it almost worth it? I'm open to all input. <$200 or <$300 for everything - including wires and box. If I can find a decent amp at a price in her budget, I'll try and get these.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=004&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT &viewitem=%26item%3D140118603444%26%26 |

simple rich. You can get a 10" infinity which is very good for that application. Also you can grab pioneer or any brand shallow subs. They save space and can play good notes. Don't get cr4ppy stuff to your girl man haha, froget bazooka or pyle |

Joey and Matt, that's awesome. Everything you said is what I'm goin for. The amp on ebay is totally optimal - thanks for that. I'm gonna get it. That box is probably perfect. I'm waiting on a quote on a box from someone but I'll prob end up with the one off ebay. Is that brand of wire any good? If not I can just get some scosche |

i wouldn't use kicker sub for my girl IMO:P i'd pick infinity cuz of SQ, but yeah that's not bad at all. Good bass system. Rich, about wires, if they're 8AWG for real, then brand shouldn't matter. |

true about the wires. That kit is SO cheap, i'll probably go with it. I'm using a RD audio 10" sub instead. this one http://www.rdaudio.net/woofers/studio.php And the kicker amp mentioned above. |
