Thread: What amp do i need for one 12w7? |

i have managed to save 1000pound for a system for my car. i am thinking of purchasing just 1 12w7 and i was wondering what amp to buy? ive been reading other threads and people are recommending the jl 500/1 and 1000/1, price is not an issue i just want the best quality sound from my sub, which one should i go for? any help would be great |

If price is not an issue then 1000/1 is a great amp. JL's / series amps are excellent quality. |

the 500/1 will push it very well. A buddy of mine worked at a shop that sold JL and he had his 500 on a 12w7 in a HO box and it hit pretty hard. He TOLD me that a 1000/1 voids the w7's warranty. I believe him bc i know him pretty well, but thats saying he's not wrong. I'd suggest calling JL to see, but honestly i think youll be happy with the 500. |

Definitely get the 1000/1. The 12W7 is rated for for 750 watts. You always want the amplifier to have more power than you need, not less. |
