So my buddy is showing me his new 10's today, the dub1000's by audioburn. Tells me he paid $450 for the set (ha!) at audio express or some ripoff chain store, along with some badass 2 channel amp that was stable to 1/2 ohm (also by audioburn, I can't remember the name but it was the best quality amp of theirs I've seen yet.) Then he tells me that the subs are 'water-cooled'. I've never heard of a water-cooled sub before, little cheap sh*ts like duals with neon liquid to look neat, sure, but never outright weater-cooled. Tells me that the sales guy told him that there is some connection for these subs to be literally cooled by water. I told him the guy was full of Sh*t and that he paid way too much for the subs. But I'm always open to the possibility of being wrong. Anyone know of a water-cooled sub? |

Never heard of that, but sounds interesting if it's true. But, Audioburn subs blow, watercooled or not |

Actully, water cooling a sub can be done. I'm sure you would have to rig it up yourself tho.... |

I think in some professional applications they actually use fans or blowers on the woofers or in the boxes (it's a large venue, who's going to hear it?) to keep cool air circulating in the box or actually through the woofer. I don't know how effective it really is though. |

I know bazooka makes subs that get hooked up to a "chill kit." I'm not sure if its water or not though. http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Bazooka-BW1224-Pair-12-In-Subs-750W-Subwoofers-NR_W0QQit emZ110126895990QQihZ001QQcategoryZ18803QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem |

"Actually I think those were the Bazoka amps Rob" Well there was no point in your post if you didn't even bother to take 1 minute for a google search and find out if they existed or not. |

"So are 90% of the post on these forums so whats your point other then being a D***head?" Actually, the purpose/point of my post was to inform the original thread maker that there IS a water cooled sub. |

Holy sh*t, there are water cooled subs. Thanks for the info rob, I actually googled 'water-cooled subs' and got nothing. I was wrong. But I was half right, his audioburns aren't water-cooled. That chill kit is a great idea if it does what it says. I wonder if you could use it for non-bazooka brand stuff... |
