Talk to Kevin Holden. He can probably do something good for you on a Sundown. |

I was gonna get a sundown SAD 1000D for $285. I'd imagine a 1500 watt would be somewhere <$500. You will probably have better luck with the massive, though. Thanks Mike. |

so how much does build quality have to do with things because a hifonics amp that puts out 1600 watts at 1 ohm for under 300 shipped i know it wont give out the rated 1600 but close to 1500 im assuming at a way lower price so i was wondering if the extra build quality was worth paying for? |

I say yes. Make sure that hifonics is 1600 watts rms. As far as I know its not just build quality, its sound quality. but thats just in my opinion from what i've gathered, not personal experience |

Amplifiers are transparent in terms of SQ. It is build quality that separates them. |

The Lanzar opti2000d is ~1600w rms @ 1, and will do 1900+ at 1/2. $370 shipped from onlinecarstereo.com with a 1 yr warranty. |

^^^^ the Opti series isn't. It is well worth it to get something like a Sundown over a hifonics or Lanzar though. If you buy a budget brand, you can't expect it to last a real long time. |

I have nothing against Hifonics, I recommend them a lot - for the price I think they are solid sub amps. However, I believe in terms of durability, actual power vs. ratings, longevity, versatility (ability) to go down to 1/2 ohm -- The optidrive is the better amp in all categories. I've also dealt with Lanzar's CS on a couple of occasions and been satisfied both times. |

i'd pick optidrive. IT did 1400w rms at 12V. 1 ohm. You can get it on ebay too and get a better deal. Onlinecarstereo is great too. |
