im buying two type r 12inch dvc 4ohm subs and need and amp for them i was thinking about the autotek 1400.1d amp wired at one ohm anyone have suggestions please help

i would buy autotek mm1000.1 if you want to stick with the brand. If not, then grab memphis prd 1000.1

so the 1000 watt should be good enough for the two subs? also im doing this with 4 gauge and a 1/2 farad cap do i need to upgrade or would this setup still work

4 guage wire is fine but i wouldnt use the cap. Whats your budget for an amp?

4 gauge is just barely enough, but should work..... and caps are useless, don't bother with that.

why are capacitors useless? Don't they hold extra juice so your battery doesnt die?

lol no. A capacitor holds a VERY small amount of energy. They are marketed to noobs who think it will stop their lights from dimming (voltage drop) when they in fact do nothing to help your electrical system.

my friend sold a zx1200.1 last year for 200$ it was in perfect condition and never even had the gain turned up to see the full output... i was so pissed when i found out i missed that deal... :-(

maybe a hifonics bxi1606d or look around for a kx1200.1 used or refurb. basically you'll want no less then 1000watts RMS for those subs at 1ohm.

ebay is your friend.
