I have a JL 300/4 watt amp. I purchased the JL xr650 cxi's figuring it would be a good fit. The speakers themselves are not horrible (except for the one that blew the scond day I ahd the system) but I once had a pair of Boston Accoustic SL65 and they sounded waaaaaaay better (only thing w/ those is that I blew them in 5 mo.) I've noticed that the JL's pack a better mid bass but are lacking in clarity w/ their highs? Pianos, Guitars really any real instrument just doesn't come through all that clean. I just spent a lot of money and time in my system. I am not sure what to do? Any and all guidance would be much appreciated.

if your blowing speakers like that it is due to user error.

your gains may be set to high or your HPF set to low.
