Kenwood and Visonik are both complete crap. Take a look at this before asking about anything else: http://forum.ecoustics.com/bbs/messages/34579/329117.html |

I'd look into Kicker,Elemental Designs and Hifonics as a last pick for a "Good" budget amp. |

i personally wouldn't get it. i second the zed amp, it'll push those subs nicely. great amp at an unbelievable price. just a little more than your budget but you wont regret it. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/shop/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=41 |

you can run more than one sub off a mono amp. for your subs: http://www.crutchfield.com/learningcenter/car/subwoofers_wiring.html?suboptions= Mono%5F2%2D4ohm%2DDVC&type=mono |

That Visonik looks like a decent deal for the money to me. Not all that powerful though - in the 400w neighborhood. That list is ridiculous - it can be picked to pieces just like all the other ones people have written up. I like how infinity amps are "questionable" while JBL are good. A lot of those amps are EXACTLY the same inside. Helix in the same category as Hifonics?? Those lists are pointless. Almost every brand in the bad list has some stuff that would do just fine for the typical hobbyist. It's just stupid.
The vibe 226 is spineless -- 160w rms. If money's that tight and you really want some power - Julio's Lanzar 1800D suggestion is a good one imo. The 2600D Lanzar Heritage is a good budget sub amp too. You can get refurbs on ebay for around $150. Your pair of DVC 4's can be wired for 1 ohm - and would work well with a mono amp that's 800-1000w at 1 ohm. |
