so im not sure what amp im gonna get but it will be less than 800w rms. i was gonna get a 4 gauge wiring kit...is that right?
and they all come with a fuse but doesnt the fuse need to be a certain size(XXa) for which ever amp? |

yo kyle man you can use a 4 gauge wire kit and make sure that it is gold plated wire. The better the wire th harder they pound. listen get acompacitor and set up a fuse in the back near the amp so u always have a live feed. U can use the fuse that comes with the set, make sure the ground is nice and secure and run the power wire away from all oter wires or else you coul destort the sound |

alright ive got another question....im planning on a kicker zx750.1 amp and i was wondering if im going to have to add a capacitor....and where could i get one and where/how do i install it? |

If you have a good battery and charging system(Alternator) then you wont need a cap. Quaility amps have internal caps. |

man stick a compacitor in it it helps regardless of your charging system im a mechanic, without it you will fry the sh*t out of your alternator and battery, to install a cap pass the wire threw the cap its real easy it will show you, you can buy one at best buy or if yopu live in the states wal mart or any audio store and dont buy a kicker hit up a jbl pioneer alpine or most of all SONY |

wow enzo, you sound like a real n00b. Please don't tell people to get a "compacitor." First of all, there's no such thing as this "compacitor," and second - if his sh!t is going to fry, a CAPACITOR will make it fry faster. On a side note, there's no difference between a kicker, JBL, or almost any other can looking capacitor - if he decides to get one, and that should only be after a high output alternator and deep cycle battery, he should get the cheapest one.

Also false. Capacitors do absolutely nothing to help your electrical system.

True. If you open up any amplifier you will see several small capacitors on the board. The amount of capacitance needed for an amplifier has already been included by the manufacturer. |

True. If you open up any amplifier you will see several small capacitors on the board. The amount of capacitance needed for an amplifier has already been included by the manufacturer.
On top of that - the majority (if not all) of the capacitance in an amp is placed on the voltage rails meaning a 20-???V range for the capacitors to distribute their charge.
On the power wire there's about a 3v swing. |
