Has anyone had a chance to use this HU yet? I just got a new car and am about 99% sure this is the unit I want. How well does the ipod interface work? The bluetooth? I know this HU just came out but I was hoping to get a few reviews on it ... |

Oh and the other HU I am looking at is the Alpine 9885 - Would you recommend this one (or another one) over the Pioneer Premier DEH-P790BT? Both are going to be $300 ... |

Premier. And is has been out for awhile now. It is identical to the 780 (which I and dozens of members here currently own) except for the addition of Bluetooth. If you absolutely need BT, get it, if not save your money and get the 780. |

usaka - isn't the 790 just the new model for the 780? brad and usaka - how do you like the 780? i am looking for good sound quality but i am also looking for something with a good ipod interface and the built-in bluetooth is something that appeals to me. |

ok yea its one of the best source unit out their, and i respect, that you like the bluetooth integrated then go for 790 but i believe 780 and 790 are the same, but either one will satisfy you |

it realy dont matter what service you have, as long your phone is blutooth capable then it should work. you can also listen to your phone mp3 files through the source deck |

ryan if i was you i would also consider checking out eclipse head units i had a cd4000 but sice it just got stolen im also in the market for a new one. i was thinking bout tryin out pioneer but my boy has one and i think i liked my eclipse a little bit better. im not trying change you mind but its worth a look. having bluetooth in a head unit might be kinda hot but i dont see a reason nor a need, why not just get a bluetooth ear piece. |

Ryan, to answer an earlier questino, the 790bt with the full speed cable supports 3rd, 4th or 5th generation iPods, iPod nano, and iPod Video. |

the 790bt has built-in bluetooth - so when someone calls, does their name show up on the screen of the HU? |

pioneer made a mistake of making a blutooth capable. now some people are just going to use the head unit for calling and not for sq stuff and what its suppose to be in the first place |

Just to let you know the 790 does not have time alignment, only a 7 band graphic eq, and no color screen. But you do gain bluetooth. If you really wanted the best of both worlds you could buy the 780 and the bluetooth adapter. But that would end up costing a little more. |
