Okay, I drive a 95 240sx that uses oversized 6.5" in the back and 6.5" in the front with 3/4" tweeters in the A pillar. Ever since I had the car (almost 3 yrs) the speakers have been messed up. When I first got the car, the speakers would turn on and off at random intervals that almost made my car sound like it had a surround system (really trippy). Now I get bursts of static at random. The thing is, I don't really listen to music all that much and since I put up with the speakers for nearly 3yrs already, a couple more years wouldn't make me go crazy; but I just thought changing them out wouldn't hurt either.

I haven't researched car audio in a long time (notice my join date and post count).
What is the "best" I can get for roughly $100. I really don't want to spend anymore since it really is unnecessary.

PS. The car forum I frequent has a seller selling two pairs of Kenwood KFC-1687 3 way 6.5" plus unknown kenwood tweeters for $110 (used, but looks brand new aka open box/no wires etc.). Would this be a better deal than what I can get elsewhere?

for 4 speakers, plus two tweets yes. I say go for it, although your problem sounds like a wiring issue
