ok so i just hooked up my subs and amp and if i turn the bass up any louder than ten notches on my stock head unit it makes my subs cut out and about 5 seconds later they start bumpin again which if i turn the bass down than it wont do that. It should be hitting a lot harder than it is. any suggestions? also i have 4 guage wire |

You need to set the gain/level on the amp properly. If not, you'll the same problem repeating over and over till the amp dies. |

Look at the amp. It should have some buttons and dials. One of them will say "gain" or "level". Adjust that according to your HU's preout voltage. If you're not sure, most HUs are around 4v, older ones were 2v, and newer ones are up to 8v. |
