ok so i just hooked up my subs and amp and if i turn the bass up any louder than ten notches on my stock head unit it makes my subs cut out and about 5 seconds later they start bumpin again which if i turn the bass down than it wont do that. It should be hitting a lot harder than it is. any suggestions? |

your gain on the amp is probably set way too high.
don't turn it any higher than 1/4 of the way up, and see it that stops.
the amplifier is going into protection from clipping. |
