so doing some research on some ohm stuff i have no idea about, i found out my rockford fosgate 450.2 amp has this: RMS Power Output: 4 Ohms: 100 watts x 2 chan. 2 Ohms: 225 watts x 2 chan. 4 Ohms Bridged: 450 watts x 1 chan. And my sub is a pioneer and it has 800 watt max power with 4 ohms, does this mean my sub is too powerful for my amp |

That sub will be overpowered and most likely blow. |

you can just hook it up to the first channel and NOT BRIDGE THE AMP. If you bridge the amp it will almost surely blow. are you sure the max is 800 and the rms is 150? marketing gimmicks, eh... usually the rms is at least near half the max..... |

im confused about this rms thing, because if the rms on the amp is 450 while the sub is only 150, why wouldnt it work? im a total newb at this and am still rather ocnfused about this whole thing. |

Don't bridge the amp, but rather use only 1 channel for the sub - should be ok I suppose. If you do bridge it, turn the gain way down - although that isn't best. |
