I have a hifonics bx1500d, im using the 1300-1500 rms at 1 ohm. I need to know what inline fuse i should use. Right now I have a 60amp fuse. I did reading online and found that it should match which the amps fuse. My amp has 2 60 amp fuses, so does that mean i need a 120amp fuse? or 100 to be safe?

And also, does this improve output on the amp and sub by changing the fuse to a higher one? Will it draw more current then the 60amp i have now? and if it matter im running 4 guage wire.

Let me know. thanks

With 4 gauge wire you should use a 125 amp fuse maximum.

For more info about fuses and wires, read this page:

Other than the higher probability of blowing the 60A, switching to a 100-120A isn't going to make any difference.

The rms current draw of that amp playing music is only going to be in the 30-40A range. The only chance you have of blowing the 60A fuse would either be while blasting test tones, or MAYBE playing some heavy bass music super loud.

But if you want to change to the 100A just to avoid the possibility of blowing the 60A and being stuck with no sound until you get it replaced, by all means, change it.
