I recently bought a set of 8 OHM JL W1V2s. I have an old (1992) Hifonics Ulysses running them (1 Ohm stable). Sounds ok, but the Amp only produces 100 watts at 4 Ohm with speakers in Parallel. Question: How can I get the system to a 2 Ohm load? Would adding a resistor work? Would this increase output? Thanks |

I think you'd have to add more subs to lower the impedance below 4 ohms. I had a pair of JL 10w0's, they were SVC's, 4 ohm I believe, and I couldn't get them down past 2 ohms. That Hifonics is a good amp tho. |

You cannot wire two 8 ohm speakers to 2 ohms. Wiring in parallel to 4 ohms is the lowest you can get. |
