ok so i have an eclipse cd4000 installed in my moms ford windstar. so when i drive over speed bumps the radio cuts off and yesterday i drove over a big speed bump and the radio just doesnt work anymore... so im thinking its the ground wire anyone have any idea what it could be?

Sounds like the ground wire to me. Either that, or maybe you should check the harness plug in the back of the head unit.
I have a CD8053 that I purchaced in 2004, and recently performed a faceplate relocation to above my rear veiw mirror. Works wonderfuly and I have found it easier to use while driving. I never liked using the remote.
